Item ID #1989

For all the pictures go to item #120 under the Antique Pistol category. I have lost the originals and can't load the copies here. You will like this set. It is much better in person than in the pictures. The .28 caliber Colt Root/Model 1855 pistol was made in the first year of production, 1855. Bore is bright and shiny with very good lands and grooves. It will rate close to an eight on a one to ten scale. All markings are clear, correct, and original. A very high percentage of the original high polish Colt blue remains. You will also find some nice case color as well. Action works perfectly and is tight. Grips are excellent and fit perfectly. Most of the original finish remains on the excellent grips. A very nice cylinder scene remains, as shown in the pictures. You can also plainly see the patent date and serial number. As you have probably already noticed a very nice case with accouterments will accompany your Colt 1855 "ROOT" Sidehammer pistol. The wood is very nice and in excellent condition. The lining is excellent as well. It does come with a key and it works as it should. Notice the excellent powder flask. The bullet mold is Colt marked. There is also a tin for the caps. Based on the condition of this set, it is priced to sell. It is very nice and will make a great addition to any collection.
