COLT 1903 32 TYPE 1 BRITISH MADE IN 1906
Item ID #1248
Date of manufacture is 1906. Pistol is British proofed on the barrel, frame, and slide. It is one of the earliest British proofed pistol I have seen. I have read were these pistols were sent to the British as early as 1905. Not sure of the proofs marks though. I think the proofs are later than the pistol. The number 54 is on the slide and barrel. As you will notice, the finish is black. Bore in the 4" barrel has good lands and grooves, some light pitting, and will rate a seven on a one to ten scale. Markings are clear and complete. The correct original grips are in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. They exhibit little use. Magazine is correct with round top, unmarked pinned base, and non two-tone finish. I have not shot the pistol. Action is smooth and tight. It cycles cartridges properly. The pictures magnify the flaws. This is a very nice and rare early Colt 1903 .32 caliber British Proofed pistol.
