Colt Marshal's are rare. Only around 2500 were made. A factory letter will accompany this pistol. Caliber is .38 special. Barrel length is 4". Finish is blue. Stocks are not listed. It was shipped to J.T. Lloyd Company 620 East Markham St. right here in Little Rock, Arkansas on April 4, 1955. It was a one gun shipment. Bore in the 4" barrel is bright and shiny. It shows virtually no use. Judging from the overall condition of the pistol, I would say there is a good chance it was test fired only. All markings are clear and easy to see. The original blue finish will rate 99%. Notice on the right side there is a scratch in the form of a Z. I got the light just right so you can clearly see the Z. Grips fit perfectly and are in excellent original condition. Action is smooth and very tight. There is a remark on the factory letter which states... It is significant to note that the original shipping records for the Marshal model revolvers typically show an M suffix included as part of the serial number. However, the suffix was not included on the original shipping record for this particular revolver, and consequently does not appear in this letter. This pistol is much better than portrayed in my pictures. Based on condition and rarity, it will make a great addition to any collection.
