According to Brunner's book this Colt 1903 .32 U.S. Property stamped pistol was issued to Brigadier General S.G. Asbill. Serial number is 571285. Along with this pistol you will receive a holster, uniform, history, and more extras. I have ordered a factory letter. Here is the shipping information. Shipped to Transportation Officer, Springfield Armory, in a 1,000 gun shipment on January 30, 1945. Here is a link to a picture of Steven Asbill. It is a picture of his graduating class at Kansas State. As a Colonel he was awarded the Legion of Merit.

Clawson's book shows this pistol being issued to S.G. Ashil. While going through the uniform I found two receipts for dividend withdrawal with the name Stephen G. Asbill. Information on who the pistols were issued to was transcribed from hand written index cards. Obviously some letters were missed or transposed. I bought the pistol from the person who bought it directly from BG General Stephen G. Asbill's family. I guarantee all information to be 100% accurate.
